ICGB AD announces the extension of the deadline for submission of offers for the public procurement “Selection of Owner’s Engineer for the Construction of the Gas Interconnector Greece-Bulgaria” up to 15th January 2018, amending the previous deadline. The first announced deadline was 19th December, which was aligned with the legally established minimum deadline under the Public Procurement Act of 35 days.

ICGB launches procedure with subject “Line pipes manufacture and supply for the needs of Gas Interconnector Greece-Bulgaria”, for selecting and awarding the manufacturer for supplying line pipes with nominal diameter DN800 / 32”.

The line pipe will be used for the construction of the IGB natural gas interconnector.

The scope of supply includes the production, inspection, testing, shipment, transportation to point of delivery and documentation requirements of these items in accordance to this specification. All other services related to the pipe installation and additional materials will be purchased via a parallel running tender for the EPC contractor, which will be announced in the beginning of 2018.

ICGB AD enters a key phase in its development launching the procedures for the award of public procurement necessary for the start of the construction in 2018.

The Call for tender for the “Selection of Owner’s Engineer for the Construction of the Gas Interconnector Greece-Bulgaria” has been sent for publication to the Registry of Public Procurement of Bulgaria’s Public Procurement Agency on 08.11.2017. The procedure is also announced in the Official Journal of the European Union.

On September 12th 2017 the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works issued the construction permit for the interconnector on Bulgarian territory for the municipalities Stara Zagora, Radnevo and Opan, Region Stara Zagora, the municipalities Dimitrovgrad and Haskovo, region Haskovo and the municipalities Djebel, Kurdzhali, Momchilgrad and Kirkovo, Region Kurdzhali.

ICGB reports constant and consequent progress on the realization of the IGB Project. For the first half of 2017 and up to now there are several milestones that are achieved or about to be finalized in the closest future.

A Memorandum of Understanding on the realization of the Vertical Gas Corridor has been signed by representatives of the gas companies – Bulgartransgaz EAD (Bulgaria), ICGB AD (Bulgaria), DESFA S.A. (Greece), FGSZ LTD (Hungary) and SNTGN TRANSGAZ S.A. (Romania). The document has been signed within the joint meeting held today in Bucharest, Romania. We would like to remind that in September 2016 the energy ministries of Bulgaria, Greece, Romania and Hungary signed a Memorandum on the realization of the Vertical Gas Corridor within a meeting of the High Level Group on Central and South Eastern Europe Gas Connectivity (CESEC).

The Southern Gas Corridor project plays a key role in promoting the implementation of the Interconnector Greece-Bulgaria (IGB) project, Teodora Georgieva, executive officer at ICGB AD joint venture company, said in an exclusive interview with Trend.

She pointed out that these two projects are interrelated, adding that IGB is a key project for diversification of sources and routes for Bulgaria.
