ICGB will be auctioning available capacity on the IGB pipeline starting from gas day October 1st 2022
The Greece – Bulgaria interconnector begins operations with a total capacity of 3 bcm/y. About half of it – 1.57 bcm/y, have already been booked under long-term agreements reaching up to 25 years. The remaining available capacity will be offered through auctions on two of the leading capacity booking platforms – PRISMA and RBP.
ICGB introduces a new management model as an independent natural gas transmission operator
The company that will operate commercially the gas interconnector with Greece is introducing a two-tier management model – a key requirement for certification received from the two national energy regulators to take effect
All main activities for the construction of the gas interconnector with Greece have been completed
Secondary activities are ongoing – they will be divided into stages according to their relevance for the start of commercial operation of the IGB pipeline; the Greek EPC contractor AVAX has submitted to ICGB the end of August as a deadline for finalizing all activities planned for stage 1
