The Bulgarian Government approved yesterday in the Council of Ministers amendments in Operational Programme “Innovations and Competitiveness” 2014-2020 thus announcing the position of the country and is sending for approval by the EC

The Government adopted a Decision for amendment of Operational Programme “Innovations and Competitiveness” 2014-2020 as the basis for negotiations with the European Commission.

One of the amendments is related to enhancing the security, reliability and continuity of natural gas supply through diversification of natural gas sources and routes.

Under Investment Priority 4.1. the main financial support is given to the project for the construction of the Interconnector Greece-Bulgaria and the project for gas interconnection Bulgaria-Serbia is provided a technical support for the completion of the preparatory activities necessary for the start of construction.

The above amendment is in accordance with the European legislation and will not affect the specific objectives already approved in the OPIC.
