All construction works on the #IGB project will be completed by the end of December 2021 according to the updated agreement between ICGB and the EPC contractor AVAX GROUP . Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and Energy Minister Temenuzhka Petkova checked the progress of the current ongoing activities on the gas #interconnector project, noting the international importance of the pipeline and the government’s #commitment to accelerate the works despite the setbacks caused by the global COVID-19 pandemic.
The additional agreement to the contract also sets a strict deadline for completion of the two #HDD crossings foreseen along the pipeline’s route. The complex drillings should be finalized by 15th October 2021. All construction works continue with full speed and within the same budget limits approved in the initial contract. The Prime Minister Borissov highlighted the enhanced energy connectivity options that the #pipeline will provide, enabling Bulgaria to have access to natural gas from multiple sources, including the Southern Gas Corridor.
