The engagement includes crucial assistance to ICGB for the implementation of the IGB project during the construction phase through to the interconnector’s commissioning and supporting the management of the major contracts. The estimated value of the public procurement is set as a total price of EUR 8.45 million excluding VAT.

Assigning the procurement for owner’s engineer is a key stage in the realization of the project as it’s one of the last steps before construction activities begin.

ICGB and its stakeholders welcome all potential participants and state that the company's priority is to ensure a fair, objective and transparent procedure and create conditions for competitive selection.

The project for gas interconnector with Greece is key for achieving diversification of energy supplies. The interconnector will secure access to the Southern Gas Corridor, through which Bulgaria and the Southern European region can gain access to natural gas from Caspian region, existing and future gas terminals and other gas sources. The interconnector Greece-Bulgaria is also strategic for the realization of the concept of a Bulgarian gas hub. The IGB project is selected as one of the top priority project of the European Union.
